At El Paso 5, Whitehorse 2
Third period goals by McBain, Nielsen, Keith and Martinek broke open a 1-1 game and carried the Puck to victory. Dubnyk made 29 saves for the victory, while Thomas was pulled late in the third. Carter and Elias scored for Whitehorse, while Marleau had the other El Paso tally.
Newfoundland 2, at Southampton 1
Lundqvist was outstanding, stopping 29 shots, and Subban’s first goal of the season snapped a 1-1 tie early in the third period. Bergeron opened the scoring with a first period power play goal. Kesler answered in the second period to tie the game. Subban won it with a rocket from the top of the circle, off an incredible cross-ice feed by Datsyuk.
