Lecavalier tapped a rebound of an Eriksson shot into an empty cage 1:07 into overtime for the win, and Enstrom earned first star recognition with a goal, two assists and a +4 rating. Jordan Staal opened the scoring, and Toews and Duchene answered for Ottawa before Hall tied the game at two. Duchene’s second of the game was countered by Enstrom, but Kane’s first goal of the season put the Tuque up 4-3. Stamkos tied the game 1:41 later. After a scoreless third, the game went to extra time.
At Whitehorse 4, Manitoba 2
A pair of third-period goals by Weber, his second and third of the season, broke open a tie game and carried the Stallions to victory. Plekanec and Marchand scored the other Whitehorse goals, while Glencross and Ladd tallied for Manitoba, and gaborik was held scoreless despite a game-high eight shots on goal. Thomas made 36 saves for the win, and Weber and Scuderi were both +3 on the night.
CHA 3, at El Paso 2
Weiss’s tenth goal of the year capped a three goal third period, erasing a 2-0 deficit and earning the Cougar two points. Vermette scored in the first off a feed from Nielsen and Sharp converted a power play opportunity in the second to stake El Paso to a 2-0 lead. MacArthur began the comeback, and Suter tied the game with his first of the season. A mere 53 seconds later, Weiss re-directed a centering pass from Malkin behind Dubnyk for the game winner.
