Kaner stole the show, pumping home four goals, including the game –winner to break a 4-4 tie, and assisting on Grabner’s league-leading eighth as the Grabner, Kane, Stastny line accounted for all of the Stallion offense. Kopitar, Malkin and Brown, twice, tallied for the Cougar.
At PU 4, Lombard 3 OT
Giroux beat Price, off a feed from Girardi, for the overtime winner. Two Lecavalier tallies and Hall’s first career coal put the Lightning up 3-1 in the third period. Goals by Backstrom and Green, both assisted by Ovechkin and Giroux, sent the game to overtime.
At El Paso 4, Newfoundland 2
Four unanswered goals and a 30 save performance by Dubnyk earned the Puck two points. Datsyuk opened the scoring before Martinek, Sharp, Pavelski and St. Louis tallied for the Puck. Holmstrom closed the scoring with his fifth of the season.
