At El Paso 9, Lombard 2
It was “stat night” for the Puck.. Keith recorded five assists while playing to a +5 rating, and St. Louis, Pavelski and Kostitsyn each scored two goals. Price only made it 14 minutes, allowing four goals on eight shots. Kostitsyn, Vermette, Sharp and Pavelski each had three points. Hall and Stamkos scored for Lombard, while Burns and Marc Staal suffered through the evening at -5 apiece.
At Whitehorse 2, Ottawa 1
Reasoner and Marchand scored four minutes apart in the first period, and Howrd made that stand up by stopping 33 shots. Duchene scored his first goal of the season for the Tuques. Luongo made 32 saves in the loss.
At PU 6, Manitoba 5
Third period goals by Dubinsky and Tavares rallied Parts Unknown to victory. Daniel Sedin and Ovechkin traded goals 37 seconds apart to start the scoring. Pominville scored shorthanded, and Gaborik buried a pass from Carle to put Manitoba out front by a pair. Giroux, Stewart and Giroux again scored for PU to retake the lead. Antropov and Hornqvist scored 40 seconds apart, early in the third to seize the lead for Manitoba and set up Pu’s final comeback of the night.
At CHA 4, Southampton 1
Malkin scored twice and added an assist, while ward made 26 saves as the Cougar dominated the High Flyers. Heatley scored on the power play 27 seconds into the game, but that was all PU would get. MacArthur tied the game midway through the first, and Richards scored shorthanded in the second to give the Cougar the lead. Malkin put the game away with a pair of third period markers, both assisted by Letang, who finished the night with three helpers.
